What about Women's
kickboxing at Cotterill Martial Arts?

So many women train here at Cotterill
Martial Arts centre, that we often get asked 'what about a
women's only group'.
The fact is that that though we have had these
groups in the past the women very quickly integrate into the main
'mixed' training sessions as this gives them much more flexibility.
Because the mixed training sessions run every evening, if something
comes up on your usual night you can come along on another night that
week instead.
For some, the initial idea of training alongside
men may be off-putting, but in
many of our classes 50% or more of the participants are women.
You can find your place amongst the many other women exercising there
that night, and when we pair up for exercises its easy to find a female
partner to work with.
It has to be said though that the men who
train at Cotterill Martial Arts are unfailingly polite, considerate,
and pleasant to be around.
Our uniforms are very modest; the
trousers are necessarily loose-fitting in order to enable us freedom of
movement, and many choose a loose fitting t-shirt too, this means that
nothing is 'on show' enabling us to relax and simply concentrate on
getting fit.
The
workout you get at Cotterill Martial Arts is refreshingly different from
the standard exercise class. Rather than a repetitive regime
concentrating on individual muscle groups, at Cotterill Martial Arts you
will be learning fighting techniques, the concentration involved in
executing the moves distracts you from the intensity of the exercise.
This means that at the end of the session you will have worked out
harder than you could at other exercise classes. (And don't worry if
you have 'two left feet' learning the fighting moves is much more
straightforward than the dance steps you may have been forced to endure
in other exercise classes!)
You'll quickly notice your abs and arms toning
up - Abs and upper arms get a particular workout at kickboxing as
delivering an effective punch onto the pad involves all of these
muscles. Each lesson also involves kicks which work your upper thigh
and buttock, and also of course a cardio-vascular workout for
your total fitness.
And last but not least - Cotterill Martial Arts
is a luxurious place to train. The dojo(training area) - the
largest in Shropshire - is fully padded, so it is soft and easy on
the feet. It is very private with no passing pedestrians looking
in. The ceiling is very high and in the summer doors at either end of
the dojo are opened to allow a refreshing breeze to pass through. There
are never more than 30 people using the building at one time giving the
whole centre a private and select feel. At the end of the session you
can step right into your car outside the door on the private car park.
But don't take our word for it - come along and
watch one of the training sessions. You are welcome to drop by at
anytime (see timetable). If you have questions at the end, just ask the
instructor.
See you soon!
